There are few moments in motherhood as tender and intimate as feeding time. Whether you're breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, those precious minutes shared with your little one create memories that deserve to be cherished forever. That's why I'm thrilled to offer my Baby Feeding Sessions – a beautiful, 40-minute experience that captures the unique bond between you and your baby.
These sessions are designed to celebrate every aspect of this journey. You might choose to capture the gentle stillness of the early days when you’re just getting to know one another, the giggly distractions of a curious six-month-old, or perhaps you’re ready to say goodbye to this stage as your little one moves on. Whatever your feeding journey looks like, I’m here to help you remember it.
Why Choose a Baby Feeding Session?
The feeding stage, no matter how long or short, is filled with countless emotions, challenges, and triumphs. These sessions are an opportunity to honour that bond and preserve it in a way that you can look back on for years to come. You’ll get to choose a location that feels right for you – whether it’s the comfort of your home, the serenity of a beach, the natural beauty of bushland, a place that holds sentimental value, or my cozy studio in Brookvale.
6-Step Preparation Guide for Your Baby Feeding Session
To make sure you’re all set for your session, here’s a handy guide to help you prepare:
1. Choose Comfortable Clothing
Select outfits that allow for easy feeding access. If breastfeeding, tops or dresses with buttons or a wrap style work well. If bottle-feeding, wear something that makes you feel comfortable and confident. Soft fabrics for close contact are ideal but don't be afraid of colour! Big bright logos = No. But beautiful rich colours photograph so nicely. Also, consider if you'd like to de-robe for some skin-to-skin contact.
2. Bring Backup Clothing
Babies are unpredictable! It’s a good idea to have a change of clothes for both you and your little one in case of any spills or messes. It keeps the session stress-free and ensures you’re always photo-ready.
3. Bring a Favourite Blanket or Swaddle
Including a familiar item from home can make your baby feel more comfortable, and it adds a personal touch to the photos. It could be a cherished blanket, a swaddle, or even a favourite toy.
4. Timing Is Everything (or Not!)
Sure it's important to make sure bub is hungry and ready for a feed but also don’t stress too much about finding the “perfect” time. Whether your baby is calm and sleepy, a bit distracted, or full of curiosity, each stage is a genuine reflection of your journey together. We’ll capture the beauty of whatever moment you’re in.
5. Think About the Location
If you're coming to my studio in Brookvale, we'll have everything set up for a cozy session. If you'd prefer to be outdoors or in your own home, think about spots where you and your baby are most at ease. The beach, bushland, or a place that holds special meaning can add that extra magic to your photos.
6. Relax and Enjoy the Moment
The best photos happen when you’re truly in the moment with your baby. Don’t worry about perfection – these sessions are about capturing the love, the connection, and the unique bond you share.
There’s No “Perfect” Time – Just Your Time
Remember, there’s no ideal time/age for these sessions, they can be done at any point in your feeding journey. You might choose to celebrate those early days when you’re still navigating the experience, or perhaps you want to capture the magic of a six-month-old who’s full of personality. You could even mark the end of this stage as a way to say farewell to this special time. Every feeding story is different, and I’m here to help you capture yours.
